Searching for the Treasures My Father Left Us

Featured: Chen Lee’s daughter, Romana, serving as project lead, prepares for the day ahead.

And so it begins.

Today was Day 1 of unpacking and organizing the Chen Lok Lee collection. I felt like a treasure hunter!

Appreciation to Asian Arts Initiative for donating space to this project, Paola Morsiani of the Brodsky Center at PAFA for being my executive sponsor, and Sara Havekotte of the Brandywine Workshop for being an amazing organizer.

We’ve made so much progress so far!

Sara, Romana’s project assistant most recently worked at the Brandywine Workshop, and is an expert in cataloguing artist collections.
As a means to get organized, Romana and Sara layed out the different lithographs and watercolors and grouped them, capturing an image, measurements, signature, title, date and edition when available.
